Tele-urgentmed

UrgentMED now offers telemedicine visits. Sometimes these are referred to as “telehealth" or “virtual” visits. While we believe that in most instances an in-person, face-to-face visit with a doctor is the best interaction, we are living in challenging times and understand that some patients might feel better paying a visit to UrgentMED using their computer, smart phone or tablet. A built-in camera is required on the device you will use for your visit.UrgentMED uses Doxy.me, which works with most web browsers, but best with Chrome and Firefox.

If you would like to have a telemedicine visit with one of our physicians, here is how it works.

1. Call us at (701) 232-9000 and the receptionist will register your request and gather any necessary information including a phone number and email address where you can be immediately reached.

2. As soon as a physician is available, you will receive an invitation via text or email (your choice) which will contain a link. Simply click on the link and your internet browser will open and request access to your camera. Once our physician is available and sees that you have “checked in,” he will respond and your visit will begin.

Many insurance companies are now paying for telemedicine visits for established patients. “Established” means that you have been seen at UrgentMED in the last three years. If you are a new or self-pay patient, or have an insurance plan that doesn’t cover a telemedicine visit, we will charge a modest fee for the service. If during your virtual visit the physician recommends that you be seen in person, the fee will be applied toward your co-pay or office charge.

We look forward to “seeing" you!
